Fern Bick is accountable. She shows up with purpose, delivers on promises, and leads with reliability—qualities forged from years of early professional responsibility and honed through rigorous entrepreneurial and academic discipline.
She is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy, with a minor in Entrepreneurship, at Miami University’s Farmer School of Business. Her academic performance has earned multiple scholarships for excellence and leadership. Starting Fall 2026, she will continue her education in the accelerated Master of Accountancy program, slated for completion in May 2027.
Fern’s professional story started early. At just 14, she joined the Property and Environment Research Center (PERC) in Bozeman, Montana. Over time, she moved from foundational support roles into a Research Assistant position—taking on substantial responsibility in donor management, event coordination, and contributing to economic and environmental research with skills in statistical analysis, R-coding, and counterfactual frameworks.
Her experience expands across key teaching, research, and leadership roles:
At the John W. Altman Institute for Entrepreneurship, she’s worked as a Teaching Assistant, mentoring students, coaching teams, and helping faculty deliver entrepreneurial coursework.
With Australian Lifeblood, she led research into innovation issues, gaining deep practice in data cleaning, statistical modeling, and research ethics.
As a peer tutor at the Rinella Learning Center, she refines student problem-solving skills and study strategies one-on-one.
Her leadership and achievement don’t stop there. Fern is a Blue-Ribbon winner in 4H public speaking, showing exceptional communication and confidence in high-stakes settings. She’s Treasurer of the Occupational Safety and Heavy Machinery Club, responsible for budgeting and financial integrity. In case competition settings, she delivered ERP-based strategies to improve financial reporting and systems, winning first place.
Fern grew up in an entrepreneurial household with self-employed parents, which shaped her groundwork in continuous improvement and critical chain project management. From that environment she learned to prioritize, manage limited time, and assume ownership of tasks—skills that drive her as a self-starter, always stepping up and delivering.
